Summary:
Assists with the implementation of services, policies, and programs for the Human Resource Department.
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources staff through a wide range of administrative and clerical functions.
Files, copies, faxes, orders supplies, and distributes mail to the HR staff.
Provides phone and customer service support.
Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources personnel by scanning, faxing, filing, copying, and other duties as needed.
Processes Employee Action Notices (EAN's) as requested with needed signatures for new hires, terminations, and/or updated changes to payroll.
Answers phones, greets guests, and distributes mail to HR staff.
Enters requisitions for office supplies and office equipment through current finance system software.
Submits information for background checks and employment verifications, pre-employment drug/alcohol screens for new hires.
Maintains employee files for accuracy and completeness.
Assists with recruitment by posting and advertising vacant positions; updates job postings to the organization's website, and screens applicants for minimum qualifications.
Conducts new employee orientation; prepares new hire packets.
Assists the Benefits Coordinator in the administration of employee benefits.
Creates and generates an employee newsletter.
Assists in the preparation and transmission of the Employee Hiring Report to the state of New Mexico.
Assists in organizing, implementing, and maintaining an employee recognition program.
Ensures confidentiality of all employee records, investigations, and other sensitive information.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED, Associate Degree preferred, and three years related experience in the field of Human Resources.
A combination of education and experience can be interchanged.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation including a motor vehicle check.
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license and be insurable under the Pueblo's insurance.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
Knowledge of traditional form of government and pueblo customs and traditions Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements Knowledgeable in the use of various office equipment; computer, fax, copier, telephone system Knowledge in multiple areas of Human Resources including recruiting, hiring, benefit administration, payroll functions, and employee incentives Strong organizational skills including the ability to file paperwork and track workflow Strong multitasking abilities and computer literacy Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds Proficiency with the following software programs:
MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels Ability to be persuasive and tactful in controversial situations Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to maintain a professional presence and demeanor.
Strong customer service skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit, talk, hear and listen.
The employee occasionally is required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level.
There is frequent interaction with the public and employees.
Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
Travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
